THE ANNA MANI LECTURE SERIES.

Dr. Jayasree Subramanian is an Associate Professor at SRM University in the Department of Mathematics. Although she teaches higher mathematics, Dr. Subramanian has an interdisciplinary background. She completed her PhD in Algebraic Number Theory from the University of Hyderabad. After a couple of postdoctoral fellowships in Mathematics, Dr. Subramanian became inclined towards Feminist Science Studies and carried out an empirical work to understand how gender makes a difference to doing science in India. Her research interests include Equity and Excellence in Mathematics Education, Exploring ethnomathematical knowledge of the community.

The Anna Mani lecture series is an effort by the Working Group on Gender Equity (WGGE) of the Astronomical Society of India (ASI) for increasing gender sensitization in the science community.
